“THE WAY OF THE ACTOR”
A spiritual approach to full self examination, liberation
and ultimate healing.
Great performance whether it be acting, singing, dancing
or comedy is never about pretending. It is about personal
truth. Everyone of us is talented and able to do anything
we choose.
My name is Rae and I am a director, actor, writer, and acting
coach, and have decades of training and experience on stage,
screen, and voice-overs, in Hollywood.
My acting experience includes films by Oliver Stone, Larry
Cohen and LARCO Productions, HBO Pictures, and Innersound
Studios, other independent production companies, and episodic
television, (mostly at Universal) and a great deal of theater,
from original productions to Shakespeare, to American classics,
to American musicals, to experimental and avante garde theater.
I trained with Stella Adler, and Lee Strasburg, the greats
of American acting, and Hollywood based acting teachers, Eric
Morris and Donna Gerrard. I produced and taught the "Way
of the Actor" acting and performance classes, for performance
artists (actors, comedians, musicians) professionals, and
specific classes for non-professionals (lawyers and business
people), school-age children (I taught in the Denver Unified
School District), in Los Angeles, and here, in Denver-Boulder,
and the midwest.
First time trial class is only $20.00
Individual classes are $35.00 per session
Four classes are offered at $120.00
Hours: Thursday evenings from 7:00-9:00 pm beginning June
30, 2011

What will you
learn?
In a safe non-competitive envi-
ronment, you will learn the Tradi-
tional Chinese Knowledge of
Pa-Kua. This consists of stand-up
and ground ghting techniques
including but not limited to: Strik-
ing, pressure points, levers,
manipulations, sweeps, throws,
locks (submission) and chokes.
You will also develop the internal
aspects of Pa-Kua through medi-
tation, breathing techniques, and
forms. Everything is taught in a
progressive manner so that you
will be prepared for each step
along the way by studying in
class with your Master.
How will you
benefit?
You will gain the Confidence to lead
the life you want with peace by having
the techniques and training from the
Martial Art to overcome your daily
fears and anxiety. That means you
have more energy to focus on the life
you wish to live and enjoy.
The Chinese theory is that our body is
a re ection of our mind and vice versa.
Thus, by stretching, improving coordi-
nation, and increasing strength, you
will bene t in many internal ways as
well, including the release of endor-
phins which is one of the many
reasons you will feel better after every
class! Training of slow forms will
improve harmony and growth of inter-
nal and physical well being. Pa-Kua is a
complete art which gives its practitio-
ner a better sense of self con dence,
increased concentration, augmented
coordination, and improved exibility.
Come and meet our master!

BUTOH dance for non-dancers
Butoh (??, Buto?) is the collective name for a diverse range
of activities, techniques and motivations for dance, performance,
or movement inspired by the Ankoku-Butoh movement. It typically
involves playful and grotesque imagery, taboo topics, extreme
or absurd environments, and is traditionally "performed"
in white-body makeup with slow hyper-controlled motion, with
or without an audience. But there is no set style, and it
may be purely conceptual with no movement at all. Its origins
have been attributed to Japanese dance legends Tatsumi Hijikata
and Kazuo Ohno.
There is a general trend towards the body as "being
moved," from an internal or external source, rather than
consciously moving a body part. A certain element of "control
vs. uncontrol" is present through many of the exercises[
7 exercises]
Exercises from Japan (with the exception of much of Ohno Kazuo's
work) most all have specific body shapes or general postures
assigned to them, while almost none of the exercises from
Western butoh dancers have specific shapes. This seems to
point to a general trend in the West that butoh is not seen
as specific movement cues with shapes assigned to them such
as Ankoku Butoh or Dairakudakan's technique work, but rather
that butoh is a certain state of mind or feeling that influences
the body directly or indirectly.
BUTOH sessions start March 15th to April 26 . Classes are
Mon. and Tue. from 1:30 P.M. to 2:30P.M.
Pre registration requiered. Session fee $ 80.00

A FEW KUDOS!
Dear
Company,
There
is such a wave of joy here at Golden West from our residents
due to the amazing show A Place to Be brought here this week. The
dancers were magnificent and residents have been raving about
the show on a daily basis, asking how soon you and your beautiful
dance groups can come and perform again!
They
especially enjoyed being encouraged and included to join in
the dance at the end of the performance.
Thanks
to Conrad’s expertise with cameras, we have an “instant
replay” whenever we wish to re-live the memory of this
wonderful event. This does not preclude having you back however!
Thank
you, to all of you, for your giving hearts and delivery of
a mastery level performance. Standing ovations to you all!
Warmly,

Wow!
Wow! We were blown away. You were fantastic. Thank you again
for coming. You were an absolute hit with the students and
staff. We feel so fortunate that you were able to take time
out of your day to come perform for us. I have several teachers
that shared with me that they were so disappointed that they
and their classes didn't get to see you all. We sincerely
hope that you will come again next year... and hopefully for
longer and for more kids. I guess a whole school assembly
with you would have been better.
Thank
you, thank you for your generosity.

Thank you everyone for participating in the
fantastic showcases at the Library, at Juniper Retirement
Home, at Emerald Elementary, at Golden West Assisted Living,
and many others. What I hear from everyone is that we are
a happy and joyful group of individuals who are real and have
fun first. Also that we are true professionals! Bravo everyone!!!!
We are the only studio in town where politics
do not govern our lives. We get along and help each other
without expecting monetary rewards in return, just enough
to pay the rent. We were able to bring together a variety
of Martial Arts, Dance and Healing, something that many said
was not possible. Anything done with love is possible!
We welcome and encourage participation in
our classes from all interested, regardless of their income
level.
We sponsor low income families in today's
tough economic times and our rewards are plenty when we see
the happiness and smiles the children and adults get when
they come to our studio!
Every instructor works independently and we
form a cooperative of experienced and proud humans whose objective
is to teach non-competitive arts that will last a lifetime.
We do encourage participation in public shows,
yet we do not force, nor make anyone perform if they
do not wish to do so. The shows are a reward and a means to
let the community , family and friends know what we are up
to, also to promote the instructors' art and teaching talent.
When you see us on stage, you can tell the difference!!!
